This was a chance to make something different. Instead of a live performace at at a show, I made this Zombie Chalk Art Time Lapse Video for conventionscene.com right in my livingroom. Convention Scene is a site dedicated to providing information about tons of conventions, appearances, and everything that might interest people about a wide range of con news. They are a great resource to stay up-to-date with everything convention related.
Having no live show, the site was interested in a time lapse video of the art for online use. They asked that I recreate their Badge Logo as my chalk mural, but of course I wanted to take it farther than that. In the end, I came up with the idea of a zombie convention horde stumbling along, all wearing Convention Scene Bages, with one rotting hand in the foreground holding the badge close to the viewer to make the logo prominent.
No, this art was not really a comment on the zombie-like state of some convention-goers, but I did think it was a cool image that made good use of their badge logo and, seriously, who doesn’t like drawing zombies? Exactly.
Enjoy the video and let me know what you think below. And for anyone going to San Diego Comic Con, I’ll be appearing at the Nintendo Event in the Marriot adjecent to the convention creating a 4 day chalk art mural of a very popular character. If you are in town be sure to stop by. If you can’t be there in person, I’ll have photos and a video to post once I get back!
